On
July 20, 2006, Joan Medlicott, famous and esteemed author joined the
revelry and red hat joy, to speak to many fans already familiar and
crazy about her Ladies of Covington series, and made many new fans
in doing so.
Fans of the series traveled from Tennessee, Arizona, Illinois and from all over Iowa and more to meet Joan.
Clever red hatters decided to surprise Joan by planting the three women made famous in the Ladies of Covington books-- Grace, Hannah and Amelia (portrayed by members of their chapter) to greet Joan at the "Chit/Chat". The fans of Joan's were delighted to meet the actresses.
Joan's books, available at the convention, sold out within a short period of time. Especially her latest "Two Days after the Wedding", released this June, and dedicated to her fan clubs.
